Fucidin H Cream (30 gm) is a prescription-only, dual-action topical medication commonly used to treat inflammatory skin conditions, such as eczema or dermatitis, that have become infected by bacteria. It is manufactured by LEO Pharma and comes in a 30g tube. 

Key Components and Function:

• Fusidic Acid (2%): A potent antibiotic that kills the bacteria (specifically Staphylococcus aureus and streptococci) responsible for the infection.
• Hydrocortisone Acetate (1%): A mild corticosteroid that reduces swelling, redness, and itching. 

Common Uses:

• Infected eczema or dermatitis (atopic, contact, or seborrhoeic).
• Skin conditions with secondary bacterial infections.
• It is generally used to treat conditions where the skin is broken and infected. 

How to Use (Always follow doctor’s instructions):

• Application: Apply a small quantity to the affected area, usually twice daily (morning and evening).
• Duration: Treatment should not normally exceed 2 weeks. If no improvement is seen after 7 days, stop and consult a doctor.
• Administration: Rub the cream gently into the skin. Wash hands after application unless treating the hands.
• Precaution: Avoid contact with eyes, and do not use under air-tight dressings unless directed. 

Warnings and Precautions:

• Not for: Fungal infections (e.g., ringworm), viral infections (e.g., cold sores, chickenpox), or acne.
• Side Effects: Potential for application site reactions (burning, stinging, itching). Long-term use can lead to skin thinning.
• Pregnancy/Breastfeeding: Use with caution, and avoid applying to the breast while breastfeeding.
• Flammability: The cream contains paraffin; do not smoke or go near naked flames, as fabric (clothing, bedding) in contact with the product burns more easily. 

Storage:

Store below 30°C and use within 3 months of first opening.
