Fucicort Cream (30 gm) is a prescription-only, topical, antibiotic-steroid combination medication manufactured by LEO Pharma. It is used to treat various skin infections that are accompanied by inflammation, such as eczema or dermatitis.

• Active Ingredients: Each gram contains 20mg (2%) Fusidic acid and 1mg (0.1%) Betamethasone valerate.
• Function: Fusidic acid acts as an antibiotic to kill bacteria (particularly Staphylococcus aureus), while Betamethasone valerate acts as a potent steroid to reduce inflammation, redness, and itching.

Uses
Fucicort is used to treat, but not limited to: 

• Infected Eczema and Dermatitis
• Skin conditions with secondary bacterial infections
• Psoriasis (secondary infection)
• Insect bites and sun burns with infection 

• Duration: Treatment should generally not exceed 2 weeks (14 days) to prevent bacterial resistance or severe skin atrophy.
• Usage: For external use only. Avoid contact with eyes, mouth, or mucous membranes. 

Warnings and Side Effects

• Contraindications: Do not use for viral infections (cold sores, chickenpox), fungal infections, tuberculosis, or acne rosacea.
• Side Effects: Potential side effects include local skin irritation, itching, stinging, dryness, skin thinning (atrophy), and stretch marks with prolonged use.
• Pregnancy/Breastfeeding: Use with caution and only if prescribed, generally avoiding application on the breast area.
